Why Do You Still Buy Collections If You Are A Collector Matt?
Part of being a collector is filling in dead spots in your collections. Sometimes the easiest way to do this, is to buy collections. This way I can fill in dead spots or upgrade games I have, then sell the extra to locals or at retro gaming expos where people enjoy and love the games as much as I do. I keep my prices fair and affordable so others can enjoy gaming and collecting as well.
What Kind Of Conditions Do The Games Have To Be In?
Any condition. Let’s be straight and honest though, don’t expect a lot of money if they are in terrible shape. Now, if they are new or in perfect shape, that is different. I am fair in all pricing.
How Can I trust You Will Be Honest And Fair?
I have been collecting games since 2005. I have never given ANYONE in 13 years a bad deal. I have been part of NintendoAge since 2009 with an impeccable reputation (feel free to go look, MCMROSE is my name there as well) and if you go to any gaming expos in the NorthWest, you will have seen me either there or at the NintendoAge booth helping others.
What Are Some Examples Of Purchases Have You Made?
The California Haul: My close friend Josh and I recently helped out a guy in California who was having health issues and drove down to give him some much needed cash for his old Nintendo Collection. I believe he had 850 games across a few consoles but mainly NES. We also helped him stock his fridge in the process with food as he wasn’t very mobile. Needless to say he was extremely happy with the deal and we were happy to help him out.
Old Video Store Game Collection: I had some friends who owned a video store and still had all their old games. I struck a deal with my partner Josh that we would sell all the games and consoles (1,200+) and split the profits with the store. You would think this sounds like an amazing deal, but the time and effort that goes into something getting this big almost makes it a break even deal. It was honestly a lot of fun and worth the experience. It took more than a year to sell everything, so I wouldn’t recommend this route for most. This was done this way because they are friends and in most other circumstances, we would have just bought the games outright.
Smaller Deals: I have purchased many smaller lots of anywhere from 5 games up to 250 games just locally and at sales or from word of mouth. Both parties are always happy in the end which is what matters most.
How Fast Can You Buy Video Games For Cash? 💵
This depends a lot on where you live. If you live in Florida (which is close to a collection recently purchased) We may have to fly down and pack it up, so maybe 1 week in that case. If you are in driving distance (I live in Oregon so up to 1,000 miles) it would take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so. If you are only 1-2 hours aways, probably only a few hours. I typically always have cash available for purchases. Money talks.
If you are looking into selling used video games, gaming consoles, and even video game promotional material, video game posters, etc… It is a simple process as follows:
- Email me: Matt@mcmrose.com, I will then reply typically within the day.
- Pictures: If I am interested, I will most likely ask for pictures through email so I can gauge what you have and the condition.
- Pricing: Having a price up front speeds things up, if you honestly don’t have one, I can price it out and give you an offer it will just take more time.
- Get Paid: Depending on where you live I can drive to get the items and bring cash, or if you live far away and we have to ship it, we can go through paypal or other means to get you money fast for your stuff, then just ship everything and I will cover shipping.
- Simple and Easy:-)
Sometimes if it is a big video game collection the process may take time to price out and set up a pickup or delivery. Most of the time things can happen within the day if everything goes quick. Selling games online doesn’t need to be difficult.
What I Don’t Buy..
That is tough as I buy most everything… I don’t buy broken xbox’s and Broken PlayStations unless they are a part of a larger collection, then I will consider them and recycle them for you. 😜
Why Sell Your Collectables?
Sometimes it is just a great way to earn money to get extra cash for other things that happen in life in a hurry. I have seen it many times where other collector friends of mine up and decide to get out of it and sell everything but they are looking for cash quick to pay bills. It happens to us all which is why I like to put out the offer that I can help. It is fun for me and helps people so it is a win win.
If you want to take the time to sell video games online one by one and ship them all, then pay ebay fees and deal with complaints and returns, that is ok too. I’m just here for quick sales where people don’t want to deal with all of that stuff. It can be a headache at times.
Do I Sell Games?
Very rarely and typically only stuff I already have. When I do sell things, I sell them randomly on eBay or at PRGE in Portland Oregon (the biggest retro video game expo around). I do this, to give people the best prices possible as I am not paying eBay fees and can take cash. This also frees up a little extra money to help buy other peoples stuff when they need cash.
When you can find me at an expo, my prices are typically the best and most fair. I like to give deals as people give deals to me and I like to give back. The people who buy my stuff are so excited and grateful for my pricing and quality. It makes me happy to have everyone win in a transaction.
I typically sell Nintendo games and typically a video game console or two as I get a lot of donations and doubles as I buy bigger lots.
